Library To Hold Halloween Event

The Fluvanna Free Library will host their fourth annual Family Friendly Halloween Event on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will feature story telling, crafts, games and refreshments. Space is limited and registration is needed. Please call the Library at 487-1773 during normal business hours. The Fluvanna Free Library is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave. Ext. Jamestown.

Benefit Set For Displaced Family

CHERRY CREEK — There will be a fundraiser for Pattie and Johnny Lukaszewski, whose house was destroyed by fire, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Pine Valley VFW on Route 83 in Cherry Creek. There will be a Chinese auction, live auction, childrens’ activities and music by Just Plain Lucky and Coyote Band. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for a child and $25 for family of two adults and up to four children, and include a spaghetti dinner. Children ages 3 and under are admitted free.

Outdoor Club

To Meet Sunday

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike 5 miles Sunday on the Morrison Cross Country Ski Trail. Participants will meet at Howes True Value at 1:30 p.m. Park in the back rows or meet at the Morrison Trailhead at 2 p.m. For more information call Earl Ross at 814-726-3920.

Bowling Event To Be Held Sunday

A group of local bowlers will host the 10th annual “Framed in Pink: Bowling Over Breast Cancer” Sunday at the Jamestown Bowling Company. This charity event will support local breast cancer care at UPMC Chautauqua through their endowment fund at WCA Foundation and pay tribute to loved ones who have battled this deadly disease. Bowling will begin with a sign-in and basket raffle at noon followed by bowling at 1 p.m. In addition, Framed in Pink is accepting donations for pink tribute frames that will be displayed in honor or in memory of loved ones who have battled breast cancer. Framed in Pink has raised over $34,000 which benefits local breast cancer care at UPMC Chautauqua.

Hold Workshop

The James Prendergast Library will host a workshop about funding a college education offered by the state Department of Financial Services at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. The workshop will include a presentation on grants, scholarships, types of loans, the FAFSA and state-specific programs. There will be a question-and-answer session after the presentation. The event will be held in the library’s Fireplace Room. For more information, call 484-7135, ext. 225.

Catt. County To Do Coin Appraisal

Cattaraugus County Bank will offer free professional coin appraisals by HCC Inc. at three branches. Appraisals will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in Dunkirk; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in Springville; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in South Dayton. No appointments will be taken.
