Church To Hold Annual Bazaar
FLUVANNA — The Fluvanna free Library will hold their annual Christmas bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Table registration forms are available at the library. The library will also email them upon request. The library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave. next to the Fluvanna Fire Hall. For more information, call 487-1773 during regular business hours or email flulib@stny.rr.com. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
YWCA To Host Program Friday
An introduction to commercial sexual exploitation of children and youth exploitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday in the YWCA of Jamestown auditorium. The session is sponsored by Safe Harbour Chautauqua County and is taken from the state Office of Child and Family Service’s program, “Identifying and Supporting Survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Youth Trafficking.” For reservations, call Jessica McKeever at 268-1464 or email JessicaM@ywcaofjamestown.
Historical Society Welcomes Pair
BEMUS POINT — On Wednesday, Oct. 10, the Bemus Point Historical Society welcomes Karen Livsey and Sam Genco as they present “Jamestown’s secret warplane.” Attendees will learn about the history of Jamestown’s involvement in manufacturing World War II airplanes. The presentation will be held at the Bemus Point Historical Society Museum on Alburtus Avenue in Bemus Point beginning at 7 p.m. For more info “like” BPHS on Facebook.
Bridge League Releases Results
Jamestown Area Bridge League released the Thursday game results for duplicate contract bridge. Placing first Bill and Peggy Blackburn, coming in second Don and Jojo Lindquist, and a tie for third Tyn and Anne Smith with Candy Larson and Sherry Dahlie. School Board To Meet On Oct. 9
CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley School Board will meet Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. The meeting is open to the public.
Rotary Club To Host ‘Gold Rush’
WESTFIELD — The Rotary Club of Westfield-Mayville will hold its annual “Gold Rush” event on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Eason Hall, 23 Elm St. in Westfield. This fun, casual evening begins with a Chiavetta’s barbecue chicken and ribs meal served from 6-6:45 p.m., followed by the reverse draw raffle for numerous cash prizes starting at 6:45 p.m. Raffle participants must be 18 years of age and older, and folks do not need to be present to win. Only 275 tickets will be sold, and tickets should be purchased in advance. Tickets are $30 each and are now available from any member of the Westfield-Mayville Rotary Club, or by contacting Linda Dunn at 326-3012 or jbzip@roadrunner.com. The ticket includes the dinner and a chance to win cash prizes.
