Parks Commission To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Robert H. Jackson Terminal at the Chautauqua-Jamestown Airport. The public is invited to attend the meeting.

West Side Women Gather

The West Side Women met on Friday, Aug. 24, with 24 members present. A very interesting presentation was given by Hugh Golden on the history of the Lake View Cemetery. The next meeting of this group will be this Friday at 1 p.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church. There will be a speaker from the Child Advocacy Program office.

Rabies Clinic To Be Held Saturday

POMFRET — The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Division of Public Health will hold a rabies clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Pomfret Highway Barns, 9396 Chautauqua Road, Fredonia. The clinic is sponsored by the town of Pomfret and Dr. Katie Ball will be the attending veterinarian. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. All pets must be on a leash or in a cage and pet owners should bring rabies vaccination records for each animal that will be receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination. State Public Health Law requires each dog, cat and domesticated ferret over the age of four months be vaccinated against rabies.

Shores Chorus Opens Schedule

Lakeview Cleanup Day To Be Held

Lake View Cemetery has a few projects to be completed before winter. Cemetery officials are looking for painters, window washers, sweepers, rakers and landscapers for two or three hours Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Those attending should be dressed for the weather and meet at the cemetery offices at 907 Lakeview Ave. Lake View Cemetery will provide all the supplies, tools, donuts and coffee. Vets Ceremony Set For Sunday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Fire Department, along with the Westfield Exempt Volunteer Firemen’s Association, will be holding a brief ceremony to honor our Chautauqua County Korean War Veterans. The tribute will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Westfield Fire Hall on Clinton Street. Those who served in the Korean War and are a current resident of Chautauqua County, are invited to be recognized by the fire department. Writer’s Retreat To Be Held

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Write Circle will host a writer’s retreat Oct. 11-13 at Bethany Camp. The retreat includes workshops by author Lisa Jordan (Love Inspired Lakeside series.) Topics to be discussed include Characterization and Romance, Writing to Inspire, The Plotting Puzzle and Building Your Writing Time.
