Library Board To Meet Wednesday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Library Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library. The public is welcome to attend.

Poland Seniors Met Aug. 15

POLAND — The town of Poland Senior Citizens met Aug. 15 for a dish to pass lunch at the Kennedy Fire Hall. Ben and Sharon Morey celebrated their 52nd anniversary. There were no August birthdays. September’s meeting will be Wednesday at noon. All are welcome. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. Committee for September is Cliff and Liz Barnes. As a community service project, members may bring a non perishable item to share in the food pantry of the Kennedy United Methodist Church.

Rabies Clinic Planned Tuesday

ASHVILLE — The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services Division of Public Health will hold a rabies clinic from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Ashville Fire Station 2, 5338 Stow Road, Ashville. The clinic is sponsored by the town of North Harmony and Dr. Tim Rice will be the attending veterinarian. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. All pets must be on a leash or in a cage and pet owners should bring rabies vaccination records for each animal that will be receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination. State Public Health Law requires each dog, cat and domesticated ferret over the age of four months be vaccinated against rabies.

Bridge League Results Posted

LAKEWOOD — The Jamestown Area Bridge League recently released the Thursday, Sept. 6, game results for duplicate contract bridge. Don and JoJo Lindquist finished in first place followed by Anne and Tyn Smith. Area and out-of-town players are welcome to attend. For more information, visit ACBL.org. Women’s Club Meets Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Allen Park Women’s Club will meet to discuss this past summer’s bandshell season and other matters. The theme of the evening is game night and will occur at the Allen Park Men’s Club at 6:30 p.m. for snacks and dessert. Each member is to bring a wrapped white elephant gift.

Quilters Guild Gathers Thursday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Westfield YWCA. Karen McPoyle of the Calico Patch Quilt Shop in Northeast, Pa., will be the guest speaker. Her discussion will include a trunk show featuring some of her quilts and the stories that go with them. She will also bring items from her shop for purchase, with cash and personal check sales only. Members are reminded the September meeting is the deadline for the 2018 “Get to it” Challenge. Members must show their finished project at the meeting for it to be considered finished.

Car Club To Meet On Wednesday

The September meeting of the Antique Car Club will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the War Vets Recreation Club on Fluvanna Avenue. Those attending do not need to own an antique car to belong. New members are welcome to join the car club.
