Ashville UMC To Host Food Pantry

ASHVILLE — The Mobile Pantry Truck at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday will have representatives from different agencies from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Representatives attending include Brooke Barone of Chautauqua Opportunities, Nancy Dunbar, Chautauqua Opportunities Fatherhood Program coordinator, Lindsey Perry, Chautauqua Opportunities Insurance Enrollers, and Judy Wroda, Southwestern Independent Living Center and No Wrong Door/NY Connects.

Pastor To Present Missionary Trip

Pastor Eddie Kizito of the Nansana Church of God and director of Day Spring High School in Nabweru, Uganda, will be a featured at a presentation at the Jamestown Prendergast Library at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library’s Fireside Room. Pastors Roy Miller and Mel McGinnis will also be sharing about a recent mission trip they took to Uganda in May, discussing matters related to training pastors, visiting schools, visiting a United Nations refugee camp and a Christian leader in key cabinet position of the national government. Included in the presentation will be missionary from Thailand, Steve Cable, who grew up in the Kiantone Congregational Church. He will feature a short video featuring the English school he started. The library does not endorse the views expressed in the presentation and is not a sponsor of the event. For more information, call 569-6610.

Historical Society Starts New Series

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society kicks off the 2018-19 guest speaker series on Wednesday, Sept. 12, as they welcome author and storyteller Paul Leone to discuss his interest in and search for folklore stories representing our area. He will also read from one of his stories. Paul will have copies of his books available for sale. This event will be held at Hotel Lenhart on Lakeside Drive in Bemus Point beginning at 7 p.m. We are also pleased to announce that John and Bebe Johnston will share insights into the glamorous past of The Hotel Lenhart. The Historical Society Museum on Alburtus Avenue will be open during the Bemus Point Fall Fest from Sept. 14-16. Stories At Cherry Creek Library

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek Library will hold story hours from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 1, 8, 15 and 29 and a special story hour at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 22 to screen “The Wizard Of Oz.” For more information, call 269-5105.

Ripley Craft Sale Set For Sept. 15

WESTFIELD — A vendor fair hosted by the Noble Winery and Ripley Public Library will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Noble Winery, 8630 Hardscrabble Road, Westfield.
