Rabies Clinic To Be Held Thursday

ELLINGTON — The town of Ellington will hold a free rabies clinic from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the town highway building, 673 E. Main St., Ellington. Pet owners should bring previous rabies certifications to the clinic. All dogs, cats and ferrets must be on a leash or in a cage.

JHS Marching Band Preview Set

Jamestown High School’s Red Raider Marching Band will hold it annual Community Preview Night on Thursday at 8 p.m. on the field behind Jamestown High School. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend the free Community Preview Night to learn more about the marching band program and see a preview of their 2018-19 show.

Police To Inspect Child Car Seats

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office announced it is offering two child safety seat inspections, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Basil Chevrolet, 212 E. Main St, Fredonia, and from noon-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Sinclairville Fire Department located at 30 Main St., Sinclairville. Parents, grandparents, or caregivers can bring children to Basil’s on Saturday and the fire department on Sunday where certified child safety seat technicians will be performing checks of the condition of the seat, proper placement and appropriate size. There is no cost associated with the event, and under certain conditions, seats may be replaced with a new one provided by the Governors Traffic Safety Program. The child must be present to be properly fitted.

Parks Group To Meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at the Robert H. Jackson Airport at 4 p.m. The pubic is invited to attend.

Local Author To Hold Book Signing

FALCONER — Jamie Richir will be at the Falconer Public Library on Saturday to sign copies of her book, “God in a Bottle.” The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The library is located at 101 W. Main St., Falconer.

Shepardsons Set Family Reunion

GERRY — The 104th annual reunion picnic of the descendants of Walter and Camilla Shepardson will be held on Saturday at Gerry Town Park pavilion 1. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. and all attendees are asked to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table service and beverage. For more information call Larry Barmore at 985-4870.

Busti Wraps Up Concert Series

BUSTI — The final Busti Gazebo Concert of the 2018 season will feature Happy Days on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. Gabriel (Ross) Giuffre and Mary Giuffre will be performing the great sounds of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, plus the oldies music of Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Tom Jones and more before returning to their winter home in Florida this fall. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.
