Marvin House To Meet Thursday

Lorraine Cole will portray Emilia Earhart when the Marvin House members reconvene on Thursday. Lunch will be served at noon prior to Cole’s performance. The monthly member luncheon date has been changed to the second Thursday of the month.

Ellery Seniors Host Dinner

The Ellery Senior Citizens met in July at St. Timothy Lutheran Church for their annual chicken barbecue catered by Debbie Stearns, Classic Occasions. Those serving on the kitchen committee were Mary O’Boyle and Josephine Cantali. Helen Ingerson celebrated her 95th birthday Sam Genco spoke about scuba diving and shared artifacts and photos. Next month’s kitchen committee will include Phyllis Starr, Ola Olson and Helen Ingerson. The next meeting will be Friday at noon at the church. Elaine Crossley, the Bluebird Lady, will share her experiences in Eastern Bluebird conservation for the past 50 years.

Farmers Market Welcomes Writer

At the Falconer Farmers Market on Saturday, Jim Vincent will be signing copies of his third children’s book “I’m going to Miss My Brother.” There will also be a display of historical items in the gazebo in conjunction with the History Walk that will start at 9 am. There is ample free parking at the market.

Workshop On Doll Making Set

CASSADAGA — On Sunday, a workshop will be held to allow those who attend to create their own Victorian paper doll. Carrie Tredo will present this three-hour workshop to direct people in the doll-making process. The price of the workshop is $35, which includes all of the materials. The Spirit Art Gallery is located on Route 60. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to spirit art, the gallery also features aura photography. Authors To Visit Bookstore Sat.

LAKEWOOD — Two sci-fi/fantasy authors, Jeffrey Pawlak and Kelly Sedinger, will appear at the Off the Beaten Path Bookstore on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CVCS Board Meets Tuesday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School board will hold a workshop at 5 p.m. Tuesday, in the board conference room. The public is welcome to attend.

Blair Crimmins Will Perform

MAYVILLE — Blair Crimmins and the Hookers will perform at Webb’s Captain’s Table Restaurant on Friday at 6 p.m. The Hookers put a modern twist on 1920s Dixieland jazz and Ragtime. The band has toured the eastern United States, and has opened for Mumford & Sons and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The show is part of the Live at Webb’s concert series. Spaghetti Dinner Is Thursday

The Marco Polo club will hold its annual spaghetti dinner fromm 4-7 p.m. Thursday.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children.
