Cemetery Group To Meet Monday

KIANTONE — The annual meeting of the Kiantone Maple Grove Cemetery Association will be held on Monday, May 21, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the Kiantone Congregational Church, 646 Kiantone Road, Jamestown. All lot owners and families are invited to attend.

Thrift Shop Weekly Report

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., Jamestown, will have all ladies tops buy two, get one of equal or lesser value free. There are many styles and sizes from which to choose. The shop also has wedding dresses, some brand new valued at more than $1,000, two flower girls dresses in used but good condition. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday or during open hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead at 664-1887. Off-street parking is available in the church parking lot off of East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

After-Prom Group To Decorate

FALCONER — The Falconer After-Prom Committee will decorate in the school gym at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and all day Friday starting at 9 a.m. for the after-prom party. All parents of those attending prom are welcome to attend. For more information, call Rosie Digirolamo at 665-6624.

Water Testing Set For Friday

Jamestown Board of Public Utilities water customers in Celoron and west toward Lakewood and Ashville should be on the lookout for discolored water on Friday. A large facility at 101 Jackson Avenue will conduct its annual fire pump test around 8 a.m. Such testing sometimes causes discolored water for between 12 and 24 hours. Customers in the area should not do laundry until water appears to be clear.

RTPI To Host Guided Tours

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host guided gallery tours from 7-9 p.m. Thursday of its newest exhibition, “Roger Tory Peterson: The Life, The Work, The Legacy.” The exhibit runs now through Aug. 5. The cost of the program is a $10 donation which supports RTPI’s art, education, and conservation initiatives. The Roger Tory Peterson Institute is located at 311 Curtis St., Jamestown. Rummage Sale Set For Saturday

CASSADAGA — The annual Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary rummage and bake sale will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the post home, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Starting at 1 p.m. there will be a bag sale. All proceeds go to assist in veterans’ projects.

Open House Day Set For Saturday

MAYVILLE — Local residents and visitors are being encouraged to learn more about local history by participating in the first ever countywide Museum and Historical Society Open House Day on Saturday. Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., visitors are welcome to stop by their area museum and see items in their collections, learn more about upcoming programs and activities, and find out how they can help preserve local history by becoming a member or even a volunteer. While many historical groups are offering free admission to the open house, not all are. Those attending should contact a museum before attending to make sure they are participating.
