Library Board To Meet Thursday

This month’s James Prendergast Library meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. This meeting will be open to the public.

JPS Board To Meet Wednesday

A regular meeting of the Jamestown Board of Education will take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at 197 Martin Road, Jamestown.

Energy Event Set For Thursday

DUNKIRK — The public is invited to explore ways to save energy, improve the local economy and build a stronger, healthier community. Learn about financing, grants and rebates for all income levels at a free, family friendly workshop titled “Connecting People to Energy & Power” on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk. This special session is facilitated by the Adult Education & Workforce Development division of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES and PUSH Green of Buffalo. Quilters Guild To Meet Thursday

WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters’ Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Westfield YWCA. The special speaker for the evening is John Kubiniec of Big Rig Quilting. Guests are welcome.

Church Ladies To Meet Thursday

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Congregational Church Ladies Aid Society will meet Thursday at the Cable Hollow Country Club for a Ladies Day Out luncheon. Twelve women attended the most recent meeting hosted by Melissa Von Kleist and Joan Spontaneo. Jean Berg opened the meeting with a prayer. Karen Swanson gave the secretary’s report and provided the devotional of Billy Graham, “How To Be A Good Grandparent.” Joan Spontaneo gave the treasurer’s report. A sign-up sheet was passed for the monthly hostesses and devotions. The group discussed what should be provided for future memorial and funeral receptions at the church. Irene Levan closed the meeting with a prayer.

Ag And Farmland Board To Meet

The Chautauqua County Agriculture and Farmland Protection Board meeting will be held on Friday at 9 a.m. at the Frank W. Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown, New York 14701. RHJC To Host Titanic Portrayal

The Robert H. Jackson Lodge of Research will host a historical portrayal of Carolyn Wick Bonnel, who was aboard the Titanic when it sank on April 15, 1912, in the North Atlantic and survived to tell her story. Carolyn Bonnel will be portrayed by Lorraine Cole, who has portrayed several well-known men and women of yesteryear and has travelled throughout the United States, including Alaska, to perform. The program will be held Saturday at the Mount Moriah Lodge in the Weeks Fellowship Hall and will begin at 7:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public.
