SWCS To Hold Student Roundup

Kindergarten Roundup for Southwestern Elementary School will be held weekdays from Thursday through Friday, May 18. Children must be 5 years of age by Dec. 1, 2018, to be eligible. Students already enrolled in Southwestern’s Pre-K program, either at Southwestern or Zion Covenant PreSchool, do not need to come to Roundup. Spring Book Sale Starts Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library will host its spring book sale in the library’s Heritage Gallery from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and a bag sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Prices are $1 each for hard cover books, 50 cents for each paperback book or three paperbacks for $1, 50 cents for children’s books or three books for $1, 10 cents each for magazines and $1 each for DVDs and compact discs. To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school library. A “Meet the Candidates” program will be held in addition to the annual budget hearing. A regular meeting of the school board will take place afterward.

Spring Concert Set For May 20

Viking Mixed Chorus will hold its annual spring concert on Sunday, May 20 at 3 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown. The afternoon will include sacred/secular Swedish/English music and refreshments to follow. Tickets are $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free.

Water District Board To Meet

The North Chautauqua County Water District Administrative Board will meet on Thursday at the Fireside Manor Restaurant, 5377 W. Lake Road in Dunkirk. The meeting takes place at 4 p.m.

Rummage Sales Begin Thursday

The Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church will hold rummage sales on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.; Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located at 385 S. Main St. in Jamestown.

Library Board To Meet Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the library’s Gallery Room. The public is welcome to attend.
