Dunn Tire Holds Stars For Heroes

Dunn Tire is giving customers a chance to be a hero in support of the area’s many military heroes by participating in the Stars for Heroes program.

Throughout the month of May, customers at all 29 Dunn Tire locations in New York and Pennsylvania, including 685 Fairmount Ave., will be able to purchase a special star in support of WNY Heroes, a local veterans’ assistance organization. For a minimum donation of $1, customers can purchase the star and put their name and a message of support on it. The stars will be displayed throughout the store during May. Dunn Tire officials hope to raise more than $10,000 for WNY Heroes through the program.

“There are so many brave, honorable military veterans living in our community who deserve our gratitude and, more important, our support, in recognition of their service and sacrifice,” said Robert Clark, Dunn Tire managing director of retail operations. “The work that WNY Heroes does for, with and on behalf of our community’s veterans is remarkable. As a local company, we are happy to support them in their mission to support other veterans here in Western New York, and we hope our customers will once again join the effort.”

Dunn Tire has a strong history with Western New York’s veterans community. The company has raised more than $30,000 for WNY Heroes through various fundraising efforts, and has previously partnered with others to provide local veterans new, safe seasonal tires for their vehicles.

Founded in 2007, WNY Heroes provides veterans, members of the armed services, and the widows and children of deceased veterans with access to essential services, financial assistance and resources that support their lives and sustain their dignity.

Key Bank Offers Zelle Mobile App

KeyBank is now offering Zelle in the bank’s mobile app and online banking experience, providing clients with a secure, convenient person-to-person payment solution.

“We’re always looking for innovation that makes it easy for clients to manage their money, including making personal payments. Partnering with Zelle is an important step for us. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to identify digital payment solutions that we know our clients want,” said Jason M. Rudman, KeyBank Consumer Payments and Digital Banking director.

The Zelle Network includes banks and credit unions of all sizes. For more than 95-million consumers, Zelle is already available from the convenience of their mobile banking app, making digital payments an easy, fast and safe alternative to checks and cash. Zelle allows for funds to be sent from one bank account to another generally within minutes, when both parties are already registered and by using only a recipient’s email address or U.S. mobile number.

“Our clients value payment options that are easy to use, safe and secure,” Rudman said. “By introducing Zelle in our mobile app and online banking experience, we now offer our clients an additional, convenient payment solution they can use with confidence.”

KeyBank’s launch is supported by leading financial technology provider FIS, one of several providers that established strategic partnerships with Zelle.
