Celoron Board Meets Monday

CELORON — The Celoron Village Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to consider the 2018-19 general operating budget and conduct other village business.

JCC Recitals To Be Held April 29

Jamestown Community College’s music students and faculty will present recitals in Scharmann Theatre. The faculty performance, featuring soloists and ensembles, will be held Sunday. The music department’s best students will perform works from Bach to Broadway on April 29. The programs, free and open to the public, are presented by JCC’s arts, humanities, and health services division. Both recitals begin at 2 p.m.

Craft Event At Fluvanna Library

The Fluvanna Free Library will host a Native American Craft event for adults on Saturday, April 28, at 12:30 p.m. Participants will make dream catchers and learn the legend of the dream catcher plus other Native American legends. This program is being held in conjunction with the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System’s Big Read. The library is located at 3532 Fluvanna Ave. Ext. in Jamestown.

Traveling Exhibit At Local Library

A traveling exhibit commemorating the bicentennial of the Erie Canal is on display at the Sinclairville Free Library through April 30. The display is accompanied by an e-tablet kiosk for access to the online part of the exhibition. The exhibit was curated by Heidi Ziemer of the Western New York Library Resources Council, with Dan Ward, in partnership with Empire State Digital Network with funding from Humanities New York.

Presentation On Dementia In City

Chautauqua Opportunities Alzheimer’s Services is having a presentation on dementia behaviors at 6 p.m. Monday at Lutheran’s Hultquist Place, 715 Falconer St., Jamestown. Men’s Luncheon Planned May 1

The Marvin House Men’s Luncheon open house will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1. Reservations are needed by Wednesday by calling the Marvin House at 488-6206. Those attending can learn more about the history and architectural design of the Marvin House as well as last year’s exterior restoration. Trustees To Meet At Busti Library

BUSTI — The Hazeltine Public Library trustees will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday. The trustee meeting will be preceded by an open forum at 6 p.m. related to the 259 funding initiative. Area residents are invited to meet with library staff and trustees to learn more about the upcoming 259 referendum, the impact it will have on the Hazeltine and Lakewood library and the impact on Southwestern Central School District voters. The forum is scheduled at the library, 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road.
