Church To Host Rummage Sale
The South Dayton United Methodist Church will host a rummage sale on Friday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a bake sale both days. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the Missions Fund.
Scott To Be Guest Speaker
Family Educator Sabrina Scott from Parents as Teachers, part of the Jamestown Community Learning Council, will be the featured speaker during the Employer Series for the Adult Education & Workforce Development division of Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES today. Scott will discuss parenting behaviors from 11 a.m. to noon at the Family Learning Zone at the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown. Call 484-6190 or 484-9811 for more information. Fire Dept. Open House Sunday
KIANTONE — The Kiantone Independent Fire Department will hold a community open house from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at its station on Foote Avenue Extension in Kiantone. The department will be showcasing the station, fire apparatus, fire safety displays along with free finger food. The open house will be in conjunction with Recruit NY, an initiative of the Firefighters Association of the State of New York.
Arbor Day At Library Monday
Celebrate Arbor Day with arborist Lori Brockelbank at the Sinclairville Free Library on Monday from 6-7 p.m. This free family program will be both fun and educational as we learn about trees and enjoy games, refreshments and prizes. The library is located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville. Chicken BBQ Set For Sunday
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue on Sunday in the Sinclairville Fire Hall beginning at noon. The Sinclairville Library will hold a baked sale at the same time. The public is welcome to attend.
Open House Set For Fire Dept.
WESTFIELD — In cooperation with the Recruit NY initiative to recruit volunteer first responders, the Westfield Fire Department will hold a recruitment drive on Saturday to recruit new firefighters. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., anyone interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter can attend an open house at the Westfield Fire Department, 20 Clinton St. Demonstrations and tours will be conducted during the event.
Swedish Dinner Planned Saturday
Mt. Sinai Mecca Chapter 132 Order of Eastern Star of Jamestown met recently with Geraldine Yauchzy, matron, presiding. The agenda included plans for the Swedish buffet dinner set for Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge on Baker Street Extension in Jamestown. The menu will include ham, korv, Swedish meatballs, potatoes, vegetables, pickled herring and other items. The cost is $15. Reservations are preferred by calling Fran at 640-6835, but walk-ins are welcome.
