School Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public School Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the board room at the administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown.

JCC  Committee Meetings Tuesday

Two Jamestown Community College board committees will meet Tuesday. The Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet at 3 p.m. in the Hamilton Collegiate Center boardroom on the Jamestown campus with videoconferencing to the boardrooms on the Cattaraugus County campus and North County Extension Center while the Finance and Audit Committee will meet at 4 p.m.

Myers Library To Host Reception

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg will host annual community “Thank You” reception to honor its donors, patrons and volunteers on Wednesday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Those attending can meet library board members, take a look at presented renovation plans and have light refreshments.

Church To Craft Wednesday

KENNEDY — Community craft time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon in the fellowship room. The group will be working on individual projects. Craft time is open to all adults. There is no registration or fee. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy, and is handicapped-accessible through the lower side door.

Guest Speaker Series Continues

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speaker Series continues on Wednesday, April 11, as Chautauqua County Historian Michelle Henry is welcomed to share the historic significance of the local presence of prisoners of war being housed in Chautauqua Country during World War II. The event is free and open to the public starting at 7 p.m. at The Bemus Point Historical Society Museum on Alburtus Avenue, Bemus Point.

Free Library To Host Jon Schmitz

The Sinclairville Free Library will host a presentation by Jon Schmitz, the archivist and historian at Chautauqua Institution, on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Did you ever wonder just how Chautauqua Institution started? Learn about the origins of the Chautauqua movement and get some answers to your questions. The library is located at 15 Main St. in Sinclairville. For more information call 962-5885.

Cemetery Meeting Set For April 14

WESTFIELD — The Volusia Cemetery Associations’ annual meeting will be held Saturday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the home of Mark and Tina Winslow, 8451 Pigeon Road in Westfield. All lot owners and friends of the cemetery are invited to attend the meeting.
