YMCA Veterans Day Offering
The Jamestown YMCA will provide a full day of activities for children 5 to 12 years of age for the upcoming Veterans’ Day holiday on Friday. Age appropriate activities are planned for that day starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. such as swimming, gym games, group games and table top games. Additionally, there will be arts and crafts, and a trip to the Lucile M. Wright Air Museum. Program fees for full days of care at the YMCA are $35 per child for YMCA members and $40 for potential members. The Y does accept DSS child care subsidy. Each day, children should bring a lunch, a morning and afternoon snack, swim suit and towel and gym shoes. Registration forms and additional program information is available at the Jamestown YMCA Welcome Center. Register at least 3 business days in advance. Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday
Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet at the Busti Fire Hall on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. A silent auction will be held so please bring in your unwanted items plus baked goods for a bake sale. Refreshments will be served and the public is always welcome.
Boys & Girls Club To Open Friday
The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club will be open for all youth on Friday for the Veterans day school holiday. Hours at the Club for youth members are noon-5 p.m. All program areas will be open and there will be lunch at noon and an afternoon snack. Free swim will be from 2:30-4:15 p.m. Youth members can attend at no charge while non-members are $1/day. Adult Swim/Lesson hours will not change.
Candidates To Meet Today
LAKEWOOD — Doug Schutte and Ted McCague, candidates for the Lakewood Village Board, will host a meet-the-candidates event from 9-11 a.m. today at the Lakewood Diner. Coffee will be provided to those attending.
Harvest Dinner Planned Friday
The American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation will hold a Harvest Dinner on Friday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 825 Forest Avenue in Jamestown. Cider, cheese and crackers will be served at 5:30 p.m. with a Swedish-style meatball dinner to follow at 6 p.m. After dinner the program will be “Finding Our Roots in Sweden,” presented in pictures by Jerry and Kay Swanson. The cost is $12 per person.
Registration Is Open For Auction
Registration is now open for Infinity’s fourth annual Art Market and Auction. Frewsburg Board Meets Thursday
The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold its regular board meeting on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at the Robert H. Jackson Elementary School. The public is welcome to attend.
