Gun Giveaway Set For Saturday
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 23rd annual gun giveaway at the Sinclairville Fire Hall on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is free. There will be door prizes and food available. The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department answers between 250 and 275 calls per year. All money raised is used to keep the department’s ambulance supplied. It also provides for the volunteer firemen needed gear and maintenance on emergency vehicles. The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit fire company and relies on donations from the community to help offset costs of equipment expenses.
Nordon Women To Hold Lunch
The Nordon women’s Club lunch will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 21, and the social lunch at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $24 per person. Firm reservations must be made by Friday, Oct. 13. BOE Meeting Postponed
The joint meeting between the Clymer and Panama boards of education scheduled for today has been postponed. The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Clymer Student Performance Center.
Church To Host Steak Dinner
The North Harmony United Methodist Church, 6814 Sherman-Stedman Road, will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4:30-6:30 pm. on Saturday. The meal includes Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll, ice cream sundae and beverage. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for children. Take-outs will be available and a bake sale will be held. Proceeds will benefit local mission projects.
Marco Polo Club To Host Dinner
The Marco Polo Club will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday from 4:30-7 p.m. Meals are $9 for adults, $5 for children.
SUNY ESC To Hold Info Session
LAKEWOOD — The State University of New York Empire State College will hold public information about its associate and bachelor’s degree programs at its Lakewood location, 305 East Fairmount Ave., Suite 5, Lakewood, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. For more information, call 338-1508.
Outdoor Club To Hike Trail Sunday
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike a section of the North Country National Scenic Trail from Route 59 to the Sugar Bay Trailhead for a total of 4.9 miles. This will be a shuttle hike. Participants will meet at the Brown Run parking area off Route 59 near the bridge across Brown Run at 1 p.m. For more information call Marge Neel at 814-757-9099.
Auxiliary Harvest Dinner Is Sunday
The Leon Fireman’s Auxiliary will hold its annual Harvest Dinner, beginning at noon on Sunday in the Leon Fire Hall. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children. Takeouts will be available. A theme basket raffle will also be held.
