Board To Meet
LAKEWOOD — Lakewood Mayor Cara Birrittieri has called for a special meeting of the Lakewood Board of Trustees to be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the board room of the Anthony C. Caprino Municipal Building, 20 W. Summit St. The meeting is open to the general public.
Bridge League Changes Venue
LAKEWOOD — The Jamestown Area Bridge League is moving to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 35 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, for its regular weekly game on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. On Sept. 14, Anne and Tyn Smith finished in first place, with Bill Tordella and Lana Creal in second. Peggy and Bill Blackburn were third, with five tables in play. The league is ACBL sanctioned and points awarded, but ACBL membership is not required. All bridge players are very welcome. Thrift Shop To Hold Half-Off Sale
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have a half-off special on all ladies’ jeans, dress slacks and blazers, starting at $2 and up, during open hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. There is also a selection of cold weather clothing in men’s and children’s, as well as boots, purses, jewelry and small household items. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays or during regular business hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.
Support Group To Meet Today
The Tanglewood Group Memory Cafe will host a memory care support group meeting from 2-3:30 p.m. today at Comfort Today, 17 Gifford Ave., Jamestown. For more information, call Nicole Mucheck at 488-9434. Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

Library Plans Free Classes
FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library offers free genealogy classes on Thursday and Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Ancestry Library Edition and Family Relative will be available for patrons’ use. Those attending can bring their own device or use one of the library computers. Pre-registration is requested by calling the library at 569-5515. The class is limited to 10 people. The library is located at the corner of Ivory and Falconer streets in Frewsburg. The Ivory Street entrance is handicapped-accessible.
Choir Rehearsals Set For Thursday
Community members are invited to join The Living Christmas Tree choir. Rehearsals begin Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., Jamestown. Choir members must be able to memorize the music. For more information, call the church office at 483-9825.
