Bag Sale Begins Wednesday

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, will have its annual $2 bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays or during regular business hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. The shop will open on Saturdays starting in September. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

Thule Lodge To Meet Thursday

BEMUS POINT–The Thule Lodge, 4123 Pancake Hill Road, Bemus Point, will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. for the annual corn and hot dog roast. All members are encouraged to attend, and to bring a dish of food to add to the meal. The business meeting will be held at 7 p.m. New members are welcome.

Youth Karate Classes Planned

The Jamestown YMCA is offering youth karate classes for children 5 to 15 years old and adult karate classes starting Sept. 5. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m and 6:30-7:30 p.m. for adults. Christina Kebort, an 8th degree black belt in Shotokan Karate, is the instructor. Kebort has more than 14 years of experience practicing and teaching karate. The youth program is $40 for YMCA members and $60 for potential members while the adult program is $40 for YMCA members and $65 for potential members. Bug Out Program Set For Friday

MAPLE SPRINGS — Long Point State Park will host Bug Out, a program with Allegany State Park naturalists taking a closer look at insects crawling around Long Point State Park, at 10 a.m. Friday. Those attending should meet at the Overlook Gazebo. For more information, call 386-3165, ext. 208.

Bird Banding Event Saturday

Fishing Event

Set For Sunday

MAPLE SPRINGS — Long Point State Park will host I Fish NY starting at 10 a.m. Sunday. The program is based on the I Fish NY clinic by the state Department of Environmental Conservation and is for ages 8 and up. There will be demonstrations of how to tie a line, identify fish and casting. Those attending should meet at the marina concession stand. For more information, call 386-3165, ext. 208.

I Am Free

Event Is Sunday

On Sunday from noon-4 p.m. in downtown Sinclairville, Park Church will hold its second annual I Am Free event. Children who live in the Cassadaga Valley community will be given free backpacks, school supplies, clothing vouchers and haircuts. There will also be free food, games for adults and children alike, classic cars and a dunk tank. For those interested, there will be an outdoor church service starting at 10 a.m. Both events take place in Minckler Commons.
