Canoe Outing Set For Sunday

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak or canoe on Chapman Dam in Chapman State Park on Sunday. Participants should their bring their dinner or a sandwich and meet at the boat launch at 4 p.m. The group will eat dinner after the float. For more information call John Young at 814-730-2915.

Ron And Nancy To Perform

Ron and Nancy OneSong will be performing at the Celeron Legion Post 777 in Jamestown on Sunday. The concert will start at 2 p.m. Ron and Nancy OneSong specialize in vintage Americana, including country, bluegrass, western, folk, and ’50s and ’60’s Rock ‘n Roll. They are well-known regionally for their renditions of vintage country songs by artists such as Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Hank Snow, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Marty Robbins, Dolly Parton, Eddy Arnold and many more. Higher Ground To Perform

ELLINGTON — Higher Ground, which includes Sylvia and Conrad Mighells and Frank Jesmer, will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at the Ellington Community Church. Refreshments will be served following the concert.

Lakefront Picnic Set For Sunday

The Lakewood Rod and Gun Club will host their 10th Annual Hot Rod Sunday and Lakefront Picnic on Sunday, from noon-5 p.m. The event will feature live music by Happy Days, food and drink. Dash plaques to the first 100 cars and awards for People’s Choice and Participant’s Choice.

Is Saturday

BEMUS POINT — Maple Grove football will host a mattress fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Sunnyside Manor Gymnasium, 27 Sunnyside Ave., Bemus Point.

St Luke’s Kayak Mass Is Sunday

St Luke’s Episcopal Church will be holding their monthly kayak mass from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The group excursion will end with a service of communion on the lake. The event is open to anyone, regardless of religious affiliation. Paddlers should bring their own canoes and/or kayaks and life vests. There will also be a limited number of rentals available through Evergreen Outfitters, who will deliver the kayaks and equipment to the launch site. Anyone interested in renting should contact Evergreen in advance at 763-2266. Participants are asked to contact the church office at 483-6405 by Friday for information on the launch site and any changes in plans.

SA Summer Park Meetings Begin

The Salvation Army has begun its series of summer park meetings at River Walk Park in Brooklyn Square. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. Performances include Saved by Grace, July 16; Sing with the Salvation Army, July 23; The Salvation Army Band and Songsters, July 30; the Crossmen, Aug. 6; Kidder Alive, Aug. 13; and an artist to be announced on Aug. 20. In the event of rain, the program will be held at The Salvation Army, 83 S. Main St., Jamestown.
