Norden Women To Meet April 28

The Norden Women’s Club’s next luncheon will be Friday, April 28, at Moon Brook Country Club. Social time is at noon with lunch starting at 12:30 p.m. Reservations are due by Friday by calling Cindy Gleason at 782-3363 or Nancy Nordwall at 485-1327.

Card Craft Class Set For Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library will hold a Beginner’s Card Craft Class on Thursday at 6 p.m. The class will be led by library volunteer Sue Allenbrand and participants will craft a birthday card design. Pre-registration is required and a fee of $2 will be charged for materials. Call the library at 962-5885 or email sincfrlb@gmail.com to register.

Thrift Shop Ready For Spring

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, now has its spring/summer clothing out in all departments, including men’s, ladies’ and children’s. The shop also has four new wedding dresses. Shop hours are Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations are accepted on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon or during regular business hours. Those with large donations are asked to call ahead. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all-volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

Outdoor Club To Row Wednesday

On Wednesday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak or canoe on Tionesta Creek from the Sheffield Boat Launch to the Blue Jay Bridge in Lynch, Forest County. Participants should bring water and lunch and meet at the boat launch at 10 a.m. A permit is required to use the launch site. The event will be cancelled if the temperature falls below 60 degrees or if it is raining. Those attending should bring their own personal flotation device. For more information, call Dennis Anderson at 969-9772. On Sunday, the club will hike Flat Run. The hike is about six miles and has several small stream crossings. Author To Visit Local Library

Local author Donald Dowling will present his new release, “The Gold of Vanishing Creek: A Western Novel,” at the Sinclairville Free Library on Thursday at 6 p.m. Dowling, a member of the library’s Write Circle, will speak about his experience of writing his first novel and getting it published. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and the author will sign books following the program.

Panama BOE To Meet Thursday

The Panama Board of Education will hold a special board meeting with Clymer Central School to review and appoint Feasibility Study Committee Members on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Panama Central School Auditorium. The Panama Board of Education will also meet at 6:15 p.m. in the Board Room prior to the joint meeting to approve the 2017-18 proposed budget. The meetings are open to the public.
