Mayville Senior Citizens Meet Thursday

The Mayville Senior Citizens met on April 6.

After the Invocation, the 28 members and two guests present enjoyed a beef on weck sandwich with side dishes and desserts. The regular meeting opened with devotions from Dianne Goodrich followed by the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the last meeting were read, corrected and approved. The treasurer reported was given and approved.

A trivia contest will be held on May 11 at the Harmony Senior Center in Stow. The contest starts at 1 p.m. She also mentioned a Drivers Safety Course being offered at the Chautauqua Center in Jamestown on April 28. Call for more info if interested.

Mary Carlson reported on the birthday and get well cards she has sent since our last meeting. Sharon Plucinski collected money from those interested in the Hidden Valley Animal Farm tour.

The speaker at the next meeting will be John Livingston and his dog, Clifford. The kitchen committee received a hand for all their hard work. Our two guests, Sue Aldrich and Kristen Sukalac, were introduced. Door prizes were won by Lori Magnuson and Pat Snow.

“Pass the Present” was won by Joyce Ayers and Duane Frudd was the lucky lottery winner.

The next meeting is on April 20. The club will again provide beef on weck sandwiches on that occasion.
