Harmony Seniors Gather At Panama Church

Fifty-five members and three guests, David Lindberg, Sherry McCarthy and Paul Baglia attended the Oct. 7 tureen luncheon of the Harmony Senior Citizens at the Panama United Methodist Church.

President Roberta Karlson welcomed everyone and encouraged members to say “Hello” to an old friend and introduce yourself to someone new.

Chaplain Lois King read “Autumn” led the Salute to the Flag and offered the dinner prayer. Dottie Enlow, Willa May Rupczyk, Tom Smith and Dorothy Erickson were table hosts.

Roberta stated that the county had given her 40 COVID test kits which were offered to members. Wendie Raynor, secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting and Mary Lou Garfield gave the treasurer’s report. Both were accepted as read. Cindy Miller gave a report on cards she had sent to members and was asked to send thinking of you cards to Elinor Sturges, Judy Prechtl and Marilyn Lingerlamb.

Members were reminded dues were due in September and also to sign up to volunteer to serve as table hosts, as four individuals are needed for each month.

Julia Nelson is willing to prepare our Thanksgiving luncheon for a $10 donation. Reservations for the dinner are closed. Members signed up to bring apple or pumpkin pies and homemade dinner rolls. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3, at noon.

Music will be provided by Morgan Lloret. Sally Hagg, Ellen Coffaro, Tracey Mingle and Sherry McCarthy are table hosts for November.

A brief discussion was held regarding the Christmas luncheon. It was decided to have ham, with the cost to be taken from the treasury from the donation taken at the monthly meetings. Members are to bring their favorite Christmas dish to pass. Roberta to look into four students from the school to help serve at the December meeting. The date of the Christmas luncheon is Dec. 1.
