Members Of Harmony Seniors Group Meet At Panama Church

PANAMA — Fifty-four members of the Harmony Senior Citizens enjoyed a lunch consisting of three different kinds of pizza, two different soups and make-your-own sundaes on March 5 at the Panama United Methodist Church.

Beverly thanked Dottie Enlow for all her work in organizing the pizza orders, Sally Hagg and Dottie making the soup, and the committee members June Whipple, Mary Keeney, Tracey Mingle, and Willamay Rupczyk.

Beverly Smith, president, welcomed all attending and Lois King, Chaplain, gave a reading, offered the dinner prayer and led the salute to the flag.

Birthdays were celebrated by Ellen Coffaro, Susie Davis, Charles Ellis, Mary Keeney, Wendie Raynor, William Tornstrom,Janet Walker and Clair Donelson, eldest member present. Anniversaries were celebrated by Clair and Jane Donelson and Keith and Cindy Miller.

The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Wendie Raynor, secretary, read a thank you for the Chautauqua County Humane Society for a recent donation of $50 to Pennies for Paws and a thank you note from the Watts Flats United Methodist Church for a donation in memory of Chester Stratton. Mary Lou Garfield noted the Pennies for Paws collection now has $50 and that will be sent to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.

Under new business. a motion was made and carried to donate $100 to the Blue Star Mothers to help with the cost of postage to mail the care packages to our military members.

Names of members needing get well or thinking of you cards were given to Joyce Ecker, Cheer Person.

Dottie Enlow, Trip Chairperson, gave a tentative list of bus trips scheduled for the year, although no prices have been set. The schedule is as follows: The Cleveland Botanical Gardens in July, a dinner cruise in September and a Christmas memory show at the Station in December.

Due to the Coronavirus, the April 2 meeting of the Harmony Senior Citizens has been canceled.
