The Harmony Senior Citizens Valentine Cupid, Roberta Karlson, made an appearance at the Feb. 6 meeting held at the Panama United Methodist Church.

Forty six members were present for a tureen dinner and a personal visit with Cupid, who presented each member with a Valentine. The tables were beautifully decorated in a Valentine theme by Dee Ellis and Mary Keeney. The food committee consisted of Mary Keeney and Chuck and Dee Ellis, with Bonnie Abers providing the birthday cake.

President Beverly Smith welcomed everyone and Lois King, chaplain, read a Valentine poem, led the flag salute and offered the dinner prayer. Beverly thanked her officers and all members for going above and beyond their duties.

Birthdays were celebrated by Carl Lewis, Winnie Defrisco, Sally Hagg, Laurie Haley, Cindy McIntyre, Harriet Smith and Cora Delahoy, eldest member present. There were no anniversaries this month.

The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Mary Lou Garfield reported there is a luncheon (The Lunch Bunch) which meets the third Wednesday of each month at noon at the Panama United Methodist Church. A $5 donation is requested. All are invited and you do not need to be a member of the church to attend.

Names were given to Joyce Ecker, Cheer Person, to send cards to. Dottie Enlow reported the trips have not been finalized but as soon as she gets the information, she will provide a flyer with dates, destinations and cost.

The March meeting will feature a pizza, soup and sundae luncheon. The cost is $5 and reservations must be made by calling Mary Lou Garfield at 782-4575. The food committee will be Dottie Enlow, Laurie Haley, and June Whipple. Members are asked to bring their own table service with a firmer plate to carry the pizza, soup and drink. Bowls will be provided for the soup and ice cream. The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 5, at noon.
