North Harmony Senior Citizens To Meet Today

STOW — The North Harmony Senior Citizens met Dec. 16 with 44 members and four guests in attendance. The pledge to the flag and opening prayer began the meeting conducted by president Earl Ferry.

A potluck feast was highlighted by baked ham provided by the club. A cake celebrating Janette Weaver’s birthday was offered, and the 54th wedding anniversary in December of Sue and Doug Harper was acknowledged.

Minutes of the November meeting were prepared by Donna Wiggers, assistant secretary, and read by Barb Cheney, acting secretary. Various committee report were heard.

A final vote for officers and board members for 2020 were confirmed: Joanne Harper, president; Will Ortman, first vice president; Hal Wiggers, second vice president; Cheney, secretary; Penny Rossey, assistant secretary; Anita Ferry, treasurer; and Karen Brooks, assistant treasurer.

Re-elected or new to the board are Charlie Kraus, Don Hook and Earl Ferry.

Entertainment was provided by Mary Sweeney and her brother, John, with vocal and piano accompaniment leading in holiday songs.

Donation of an intricate holiday wreath handmade by Sandy Cornell was auctioned and won by Wanda Miller. Chaplain Gordan Saulsgiver closed the meeting with prayer and wishes for a happy and safe holiday season.

The next meeting of the group is today at 5 p.m. at the Senior Center in Stow.
