On Nov. 14, 18 members of the Westfield Senior Citizens met at the YWCA. The group was entertained by Kathy Petersen with fiddle and guitar after a noon lunch.

President Pat Sciarrino opened with a prayer of thanks after Shirley Kolpien shared a couple of jokes.

Sciarrino read “Songs for Thanksgiving.” The secretary and treasurer reports were read and accepted.

Lester Damcott was introduced as a new member.

A thank you card was read from Lolita Ramos. Kolpien has taken over the Sunshine chair.

November birthdays were Delores Kaufman, Dave Cochran, Carol Reynolds and Kathy Kenny. After discussion of how to notify members of meetings, it was decided to do a phone tree or email; Julie Holland will do the emails.

The club voted to add president and secretary to check signatures and Lake Shore Savings and Loan.

Club officers will meet to set up programs for 2020. Suggestions by members are always welcome. As of Nov. 9, the group had $15 in its entertainment fund. Next year’s programs will be paid out of the regular account.

Gifts from members of gloves, mittens and scarfs will be given to Union Relief.

New officers for 2020 include: President, Pat Sciarrino; vice president, Dave Cochran; treasurer, Pat Everts; secretary, Ann Cochran; and Sunshine, Shirley Kolpien.

Betty Ward will bring the door prize next month. The 50/50 was won by new member Lester Damcott.

A gift exchange will be held at the group’s December meeting. Pauline Emilson will lead a program with a sing-along. Dave will purchase a ham for the club. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass and their personal table service.

Set-up committee for December: Nancy Peters, Jean Young, Julie Holland and Betty Ward. They will do desserts, make coffee and tea and help decorate tables 45 minutes before the noon meeting. Violet Jasinski will be there to help.
