JPS invites community to recognize “Pillars of JPS”

Jamestown Public Schools is inviting students, families and community members to recognize employees who make a difference through the district's Pillars of JPS program.

"Those who look closely at the JPS logo will see four pillars positioned above the district's name," said Dr. Kevin Whitaker, JPS Superintendent. "Much like the ornate architecture of Jamestown's historic school buildings, those pillars represent strength, support and the ability to lift others up. Every day, JPS employees go above and beyond to support students, families and one another. The Pillars of JPS program provides an opportunity to celebrate those contributions and share the stories of staff members whose efforts have made an impact."

Community members may nominate a teacher, paraprofessional, secretary, bus driver, custodian, administrator or any other JPS employee who has made a positive difference for them or a student they know.

Nominations may be submitted at jpsny.org/pillars.

Recognitions will be featured each week in the district's staff newsletter, the JPS Bulletin, and monthly in the district's family newsletter, JPS Connect. Every employee recognized as a Pillar of JPS will also be entered into a monthly drawing for a special prize.

Whether it is a memorable act of kindness, consistent encouragement or a commitment that extends beyond everyday responsibilities, JPS encourages the community to help celebrate the employees who strengthen and support its schools.
