YMCA Holds Inaugural Awards Luncheon
The Jamestown Area YMCA held its’ inaugural awards and luncheon banquet, with the central and unifying theme being “Acknowledging All You Do,” at the Jamestown Area YMCA’s Teen Center on Aug. 30.
The awards luncheon replaced the Y’s Annual Awards Dinner for 2016 and was well attended by the awardees, their families, friends, YMCA staff and YMCA supporters.
Banquet attendees we’re treated to a buffet style lunch. Mark G. Eckendorf, chief executive officer of the YMCA, acted as the Master of the Ceremony for the event. The following YMCA members, volunteers, staff and YMCA supporters received the following awards:
Outstanding Teen: (Jamestown) Roberto Martir Rosado; (Camp Onyahsa) Jennifer VanGuilder; and (Eastside) Aveonia Marshall;
Childcare Worker of the Year: Bruce Larson;
Coach of the Year: Charles “Chip” Swanson and Jose “Joe” Ortiz, Boxing
Volunteer of the Year: Herb Rice;
Family of the Year: Ian, Molly, Gannon, Grady and Miles Moore;
Partner with Youth Award: Denise Heppeler and Tina Sandstrom
Red Triangle Award: Shults Auto Group
Board Member of the Year: Bill Myott
Employee of the Year: Bob “Mouse” Manhart.
