Danna To Exhibit Artwork At Annex 25 In Westfield

Colin Danna, a Scottsdale, Ariz., resident with ties to Chautauqua County, is pictured. Danna will open an exhibit Friday at Annex 25 in Westfield.

Colin Danna, a surreal-expressionist painter born in Jamestown, will exhibit some of his work at Annex 25, 25 E. Main St., Westfield.

Danna, who now lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., will be showing his new collection of paintings from his Urban Dream series. The solo exhibition is titled “Time Before” and opens at 4 p.m. Friday with a champagne reception followed by live jazz. The exhibition continues until this fall.

The Urban Dream series focuses on the artist’s intense and long-time interest in abandoned industrial buildings and structures such as rail yards, steel mills, old factories and warehouses. Time Before focuses on the industry of Chautauqua County. Danna’s family has roots in Westfield and Chautauqua County, prompting the artist to set his focus on capturing glimpses into what was a vibrant industrial past and the promise of what could be. During his annual trip to Westfield in the summer of 2020, Danna sought out interesting structures he could add his perspective to.
