Reg Lenna Center for The Arts and WRFA will premiere "Home for the Holidays 3: Christmas with The Reg" at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The pre-recorded set of music performances from local and regional musicians will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook for free to the public. The Reg has presented a holiday concert every December since 2016, beginning with the original Home for the Holidays concerts two years in a row with WRFA, and continuing with Windham Hill's Winter Solstice in 2018 and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's Wild and Swingin' Holiday Party in 2019.
"As we've been closed due to the pandemic since March, the staff and board wanted to keep with our December tradition in a safe manner," said Len Barry, marketing director.
Over the course of a few days in November and December, several musicians performed sets of holiday songs and compositions in the controlled environment of Reg Lenna Center for The Arts' Media Arts Studio. Performers and crew had temperatures taken before entering the space, social distancing and mask wearing were employed and the space and equipment were cleaned and disinfected between every performance.
Performers include Cold Lazarus, Gary Peters Jr., The Porcelain Bus Drivers, Bill Ward with Adam Mckillip and the duo of Sue Tillotson and Jim Cunningham joined by Michael Hart. The performance will have a streaming premiere at first, and will be available to view throughout December and in audio form on WRFA. It is free to view and listen to.
