Harmony Switching To Transfer Station Tickets

STOW — After careful consideration by the Harmony Town Board, starting Jan. 1 the Harmony Transfer Station will be switching to a resident sticker and discontinuing the use of paper tickets.

Paper tickets may still be purchased until December or until the supply is gone. Paper tickets will be honored until all punches on the ticket are used.

Transfer station stickers will only be available from the Town Clerk’s office. Stickers will not be sold at the transfer station.

Transfer station stickers are $80 and are good for one year. One sticker per resident. Additional stickers for a second vehicle can be purchased at a discounted rate of $25. Any sticker that is destroyed (if part of original is presented) can be replaced for $5.

Stickers must be affixed to the passenger side rear window of the vehicle. Vehicles entering and depositing garbage at the transfer station without the proper sticker will be subject to a fine. The maximum volume of garage that can be brought to the transfer station on one day is four bags of garbage and one large item, such as a mattress or couch.

A transfer station sticker application can be downloaded from harmonyny.org Stickers can be purchased by completing the application and mailing it to Town Clerk Shelly Johnson, PO Box 186, Panama, NY 14767. Provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of the sticker.
