Bishop To Perform Magic Show At Reg

Illusionist Jason Bishop is returning to Jamestown with his new show, “Straight Up Magic,” at the Reg Lenna Center for The Arts at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Bishop is an international award-winning illusionist who was the youngest person to win the Magician’s Alliance of Eastern States Stage Award and one of the youngest people to compete in the Society of American Magicians World-Class competition.

Straight Up Magic includes illusions and sleight-of-hand magic delivered with Bishop’s wry wit and audience participation. From his new Hologram Illusion starring Gizmo the dog to the close-up magic that is captured live and projected onto large projection screens, Bishop gives the audience a view of every detail.

Bishop’s interest in magic started in his youth, taking shape in his mid-teens. In college Bishop studied theatre and then went on the road performing at resorts and amusement parks, anywhere he could find an audience, including the street. As audiences enjoyed the show more and more he altered his magic to become larger and more impressive.

Bishop premiered “Straight Up Magic” off-Broadway at the New Victory Theater in New York City just months after his last performance in Jamestown of “The Jason Bishop Show.”

Tickets to Saturday’s show begin at $5 for children aged 18 and under and $10 for adults.

Jason Bishop: Straight Up Magic is sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisers, Jake Kane, financial adviser.
