George and Mary (Nelson) Spitale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 18.

They were married on July 18, 1970, at First Covenant Church in Jamestown. They celebrated with a family dinner and a greeting card shower from numerous family and friends.

George retired from the Jamestown Department of Public Works and from the Jamestown City Council. Mary retired from the Jamestown Public Schools System.

They have two grown children, Kristen and Scott, and one grandchild, Matthew.

They plan to celebrate with a getaway in the near future.
