Richard and Susan Carlson of Jamestown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a weekend of family gatherings the last weekend in August. They are the parents of Melinda (Norman) Lydell and Andrea (Chad Waddington) Carlson, all of Jamestown, N.Y., and Richard (Elizabeth) Carlson of Cherry Hill, N.J. They have seven grandchildren: Alex Carlson of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., Brayton, Cameron and Dylan Lydell of Jamestown, and Jack, Lucy and Greta Carlson of Cherry Hill, N.J.

Carlson and the former Susan Jacobson were married Aug 31, 1968, at Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Ray Harris performed the ceremony.
