CHAUTAUQUA — The Wednesday Travel League held its first major of the season, the U.S. Open, at Chautauqua Golf Club’s Hill Course. After the previous three events had been canceled/rescheduled due to weather conditions, league play was finally able to resume. Jeff Nelson was the overall winner after shooting the low round of 81. DEPEW — Fredonia is headed to the Section VI Class C flag football championship game after knocking off Depew, the top seed, 32-25 on Wednesday night in the semifinal.
