Mel McGinnis, Charlie Kirk was described as “a martyr too,” like John the Baptist, “a happy warrior for Jesus.” Protestant minister McGinnis notes that Kirk was “a change agent”, that his message was that “this nation needs a Savior. This should be a week of soul-searching for Chautauqua County Republicans - particularly those in the cities - after Democrats made gains in Jamestown and the Dunkirk area on the Chautauqua County Legislature and the Jamestown City Council. Surely national politics and their effect on the cities played a part in Tuesday’s local elections. I hate to admit it, but winter is on the way! This morning one of the weather prediction sites said that we could have “intermittent snow” next week. I have never been a big winter guy. I think I would be happiest if we had continual rotations of spring and fall - but such is not the case. Winter is a reality, especially around here.
