Domestic incidents lead to charges in Dunkirk A pair of domestic incidents Tuesday has led to charges for a Jamestown resident. Dunkirk police report at 12:05 p.m., an officer encountered an in-progress domestic incident at a business on Lake Shore Drive East. While officers attempted to ascertain the facts, Jayden Feaster, 20, obstructed the investigation by preventing officers from speaking with the victim. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY COURT – Eric Vangiesen, age 38, of Jamestown, was sentenced Monday by County Court Judge David Foley to a determinate sentence in state prison for 5.5 years with 2 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and a violation of probation, this sentenced is to run concurrently to each other. ELLICOTT POLICE - John K. Larsen, 66, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on July 29. Ellicott police responded to a domestic disturbance where it is alleged Larsen harassed the victim resulting in a violation of an active order of protection. Larsen was charged and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. Man charged after digging up time capsule GERRY --- Deputies were notified of a man digging up the Town of Gerry’s time capsule without permission. Deputies on scene found that 69-year-old Dennis R Torrey of Jamestown had unlawfully dug up the time capsule damaging the concrete that encased it. Torrey was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and was released with an appearance ticket with orders to appear in the Town of Gerry Court at a later date. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE – SHERIDAN – Gary A. Lang, 56, of Deer Street, Dunkirk was charged Tuesday with petit larceny. Deputies said they received a complaint of a prowler at a residence on Rt. 20 in the town of Sheridan around 1:30 a.m. Further investigation into this complaint by the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division led to Lang being identified via security footage from this residence looking in the windows.
