Teen charged with rape

FREWSBURG – A Jamestown teenager has been charged with rape. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, in early June 2025 the office’s Criminal Investigation Division took an alleged sex offense complaint. Through investigation of this complaint it was determined that 19-year-old Hunter Wilburn engaged in sexual intercourse with another person without their consent. On Monday, Hunter was arrested and charged with third-degree rape. Wilburn will answer for these charges in the Town of Carroll Court.

Jamestown Woman Charged In City Arson

A Jamestown woman has been charged with second-degree arson after a fire investigation at a southside residence in the city. Jamestown police report at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, they responded to a structure fire. During the on-scene investigation, officers found that the fire was intentionally set. Officers then made contact with Amber J. Hitchcock, 31. During the investigation it was found that Hitchcock set the residence on fire while other tenants were in the building. Investigators Probing Cause Of Willard Street Extension Fire

Falconer firefighters responded to a fire at 2218.5 Willard Street Extension in the town of Ellicott early Tuesday morning. Firefighters from Falconer, Ellicott police and other mutual aid departments responded to the scene at 3:51 a.m. Tuesday. The structure included a house, detached garage, and shed. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested for an origin and cause fire investigation. Currently, the investigation is ongoing.

Forest Rangers Found Missing Cassadaga Teens

Two teens who were reported missing for a short time last week were camping at the time. According to a release from the state DEC, Forest Ranger Sonja Hale responded to a call for two missing teenagers at 1:20 p.m. June 19 after they had left a Cassadaga residence June 18 at 10 p.m. with tents and backpacks but not their cell phones. Hale and Ranger Nicholas Streczywilk set up an Incident Command and divided 25 searchers into three teams.
