Portville's Karly Welty has been named the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 East Player of the Year after her strong sophomore campaign.
Welty averaged 18.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 5.3 assists per contest while helping the Panthers finish 19-2.
Other First Team selections included Tierney Hemphill of Allegany-Limestone, Sydney Hvizdzak of Randolph, Bryne Milne of Portville, Abby Rice of Silver Creek and Miya Scanlan of Gowanda.
Hvizdzak scored 21.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.3 steals per contest as a sophomore for the Cardinals to an 8-12 season. Rice averaged 21.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.1 blocked shots per game while Scanlan averaged 21.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.6 steals and 3.3 assists per game.
Portville coach Inga Welty was named the Coach of the Year, and the Panthers also earned the Team Sportsmanship award, with Sierra Keim serving as the individual representative.
