GAINESVILLE -- The Falconer/Cassadaga Valley wrestling team finished the Dick Vincent Invitational Duals at Letchworth High School in style, going 10-0 on the weekend.
The Golden Falcons were able to get by Section V Canisteo-Greenwood, 39-36, to complete the sweep.
Canisteo-Greenwood entered as the No. 3-ranked Small School team, according to the New York State Sportswriters Association, while Falconer/Cassadaga Valley entered as the No. 4 team.
The Golden Falcons also earned a 35-32 win over No. 9 Pioneer.
"It's a great dual meet tournament," said Falconer/Cassadaga Valley coach Drew Wilcox.
"It is one of the tougher small school dual meet tournaments in the state and it gave us a little insight into not only the Section VI duals, but also what the state competition looks like. Pioneer was down a couple of starters and they are looking like the team to beat in Section VI."
Robbie Penhollow finished the duals with a perfect 10-0 record, taking home Most Outstanding Wrestler Honors after defeating No. 1 ranked Nate Degroff of Warsaw via a 9-2 decision.
Penhollow also dispatched Blake Wolfanger of Perry, the No. 4 ranked grappler, at 182 pounds.
Jimmy Kramer finished the tournament with a 9-1 record, pinning Dale Houghtaling in 34 seconds to help Falconer/Cassadaga Valley take care of Canisteo-Greenwood.
Nick Saeger posted an 8-2 record, Bryce Baglia was 7-1 and Hunter Teboe finished 8-2.
Baglia also earned a pin against Canisteo-Greenwood, taking care of Jared Davis in 1:23 at 160 pounds.
