Pine Valley’s Nobles To Be Inducted Into Section VI HOF

TIM NOBLES

Tim Nobles’ accomplishments during his tenure as the Pine Valley Central School girls basketball coach were off-the-charts good for more than three decades.

He’ll be recognized for that impressive resume later this year when he’s inducted into the Section VI Hall of Fame.

Nobles is one of 12 people who will be enshrined on Dec. 7 at The Columns Banquets in Elma. Joining him are Matthew Anderson of West Seneca West; the late Fred Barone, Niagara Wheatfield; Richard F. Bartha, Niagara Wheatfield; Mary Brynes Foyle, Hamburg; Armand “Ace” Cacciatore, Niagara Wheatfield; Meri Dembrow, Akron; Jim Horne, Emerson; Terence T. McMahon, Orchard Park; Todd Miller, Sweet Home; and David B. Thomas, Buffalo Public Schools.

Nobles’ enshrinement is a worthy one for a career that began in the early 1980s and extended through the 2014-15 season.

During that time — he stepped away for a three seasons in the 1990s — he coached the Lady Panthers to six of their seven New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships, won 17 league titles, appeared in 20 Section VI finals and won 12 of them.

The Section VI Hall of Fame was established to honor and recognize those, within its organization, who excelled in their roles as athletes, administrators, coaches, officials or contributors who have provided meritorious service.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar and dinner, followed by the induction ceremony. Dinner reservations are $30 per individual. No advance payment is necessary, but reservations must be made by Nov. 21 to section6@e1b.org or by calling Pauline Turski at 821-7581.
