Local Wrestlers Dominate The 182-Pound Weight Class

A trio of local athletes are dominating at 182 pounds as the Wrestling Review of Western New York released its Week 2 rankings Sunday.

Maple Grove senior Zak Trim is No. 1 while Falconer/Cassadaga Valley junior Robbie Penhollow is No. 2 and Southwestern senior Giuseppe Hoose is No. 3 after the second week of action. Penhollow beat Hoose with a last-second takedown during a dual meet Wednesday to flip-flop in this week's rankings.

Maple Grove senior Shane Hetrick is No. 1 at 120 pounds where Jamestown junior Cody Pool is No. 3.

Fredonia senior Hector Colom is No. 1 at 132 pounds while Chautauqua Lake junior Austin Bourgeois is an honorable-mention selection.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley senior Dan Torres is No. 1 at 160 pounds while Chautauqua Lake senior Bryce Rowe is No. 3 after picking up his 150th career victory with a 5-0 showing at the Cheektowaga Duals on Saturday.

Torres' senior teammate Corey Keefe is No. 1 at 195 pounds.

Fredonia sophomore Dalton Gardner is No. 2 at 126 pounds while his junior teammate Giovanni Russo is No. 2 at 138 pounds.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley senior Dylan Ingrao is No. 2 at 152 pounds where Jamestown senior Seth MacTavish is an honorable-mention choice.

Jamestown senior Nick Ewan is No. 3 at 99 pounds while Salamanca freshman Trevor Ellis is an honorable-mention selection.

Gowanda freshman Davis Ball is No. 3 at 106 pounds while Cattaraugus-Little Valley junior Sam Grey is No. 3 at 145 pounds. Chautauqua Lake's Derek Ecklund is just behind Grey as an honorable-mention choice in the weight class.

Jamestown senior Noah Turzillo is No. 3 at 220 pounds where Fredonia sophomore Jake Skinner is an honorable-mention choice while Jamestown senior Manhattan King is listed as honorable mention at 285 pounds.

Other top-ranked wrestlers are: Depew eighth-grader Carson Alberti at 99 pounds, North Tonawanda junior Tyler Bartolomei at 106 pounds, Lancaster senior Parker Rozler at 113 pounds, Niagara-Wheatfield sophomore Justin McDougald at 126 pounds, Niagara Falls sophomore Willie McDougald at 138 pounds, Niagara-Wheatfield junior Warren McDougald at 145 pounds, Iroquois junior Cory Day at 152 pounds, Akron/Alden senior Jake Sarrow at 170 pounds, Lancaster senior Joe Andreesen at 220 pounds and Grand Island senior Jaquan Johnson at 285 pounds.

Falconer is listed at No. 3 and Fredonia is No. 5 in the Small School rankings, which are led by Pioneer.

Lancaster is No. 1 in the Large School rankings.
