Heister’s Hat Trick Sinks Falconer
OLEAN — Calista Heister had a hat trick as Olean beat Falconer, 4-1, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association West Division girls soccer action Tuesday.
Justine Brooks had a goal and an assist for the Huskies (9-3-1, 6-2-0) while Kayla O’Connor made two saves.
Ali Davis grabbed the lone goal for the Golden Falcons (7-5-2, 3-5-0) while Brianna Larson turned away three shots.
Falconer posted a 4-1 West Division win over visiting Chautauqua Lake on Saturday behind three goals from sophomore Izzy Penhollow and a fourth tally by Sam Kianos. Grace Lundmark and Sarah Disbro assisted in the win while Brianna Larson made one save.
Lexi Jacobsen put Chautauqua Lake on the board first with a goal assisted by Hannah Gilmore.
EAGLES EARN SHUTOUT
ELLICOTTVILLE — Kayla Krzanak and Robin Freaney combined for seven saves as Ellicottville shut out Franklinville, 3-0, in the East Division.
Lauren Olejniczak scored unassisted at eight minutes of the first half. Evie Cortez got the second goal for Ellicottville (8-5-0, 5-4-0) from Logan Frederickson at 17 minutes of the second half. The final goal came from Cortez at 22 minutes unassisted.
NORTH COLLINS RALLIES
SILVER CREEK — Two goals in the second half enabled North Collins to edge Silver Creek in the Central Division.
After Kylie Procknail scored at one minute of the second half to give the Black Knights (10-3-0, 7-2-0) a 1-0 lead, North Collins (9-1-1, 7-1-1) came back with two straight goals for the win.
Brianna Krawczyk scored from Rebecca Holmes to tie the game at 1-1 at eight minutes and then Holmes scored the winning goal at 17 minutes.
Myah Gabel made six saves for the winners and Tessa Douglas made six saves in defeat.
BEARS HIT DOUBLE DIGITS
FREWSBURG — Frewsburg went on a scoring tear in the Central Division.
Led by Maddie Sohl’s four goals, the Bears went on to post a 10-1 victory over Pine Valley.
Frewsburg (7-4-1, 7-1-1) scored seven goals in the first half with Gabby Iuculano scoring the first goal from Sohl at two minutes. Sohl got the next two goals with Kiara Marchincin assisting on the first one at 10 minutes and Sophia Walter on the second goal at 12 minutes. A minute later, Iuculano scored for Walter. Sohl connected again at 16 minutes followed by goals by Mikayla Corrigan from Sohl at 21 minutes and Marchincin from Kelsey Wolfe at 30 minutes.
Taylor McLaughlin scored from Iuculano at seven minutes of the second half and Sohl got her fourth goal from Iuculano at eight minutes. Iuculano scored an unassisted tally at 12 minutes to end the scoring.
Alyssa Lobb and Skyler Ownbey combined for six saves for the winners.
SALAMANCA WINS FIRST
SALAMANCA — Morgan Collins scored from Rachel Chamberlain at three minutes of the first half to give Salamanca its first win of the season, 1-0 over Cattaraugus-Little Valley in the East Division.
Lauren Crouse-Ruiz made 19 saves for the Warriors (1-11-1, 1-7-1) and Izzy Deliman made five saves for the Timberwolves (1-9-1, 1-7-0).
T’BIRDS SPREAD IT AROUND
SINCLAIRVILLE — Three different players scored goals for Chautauqua Lake in a 3-1 victory over Cassadaga Valley in the Central Division.
Elizabeth Turner scored the first goal at three minutes from Reagan Kramer and Emily Phelps made it 2-0 at 12 minutes from Lexi Jacobson.
Cassadaga Valley got one back when Dana Wilson scored from Anna Wenger but Chautauqua Lake (4-8-1, 4-5-0) bounced back with Kaitlyn Fardink scoring the final goal.
Jesse Zenns and Cheyanne Wolcott combined for seven saves in the victory. Jessie Morrison had nine saves for the Cougars (2-10-0, 1-7-0).
