James D. Leake Jr.

James D. Leake Jr., 63, of North Hanover Twp., NJ passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Nov.25, 2018.

Born in Jamestown, N.Y., he began his career at McDonalds working his way up to store manager of the Jamestown, Dunkirk and eventually Bradford, Pa., locations. It was here that his passion for the food service industry began. This led him to his 27 year career at Rutgers University where he very proudly managed all concessions for the Rutgers athletic department for many years.

He was a loving father and grandfather, and he took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, following the Yankees and going to country music concerts. He loved to travel and found himself drawn to the calm waves of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Son of the late Doris A. (Butts) and James D. Leake Sr., he is survived by his children: Shannon McAndrew and husband, Frank, Sarah McCarty and husband, Andrew, Danielle Callan and husband, Sean, Josh Leake and Jessie Leake; five grandchildren: Caleb and Carter McAndrew, Aidan, Eliana and Everett McCarty; two sisters” Karen Morgan and Polly Leake, as well as one nephew.
