CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Donald M. Miller Jr., 57, of Clymer was charged with driving while intoxicated and DWI per se with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater. Deputies stopped a vehicle Sunday at 1 a.m. on Mann Road in French Creek for a traffic violation. An investigation found that Miller was intoxicated. He was processed and released with appearance tickets to be in French Creek Town Court at a later date.

¯ MINA — Charles E. Murphy, 24, of Erie, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, speed not reasonable, failure to keep right and unlicensed operator. Deputies responded Nov. 14 at 11:42 p.m. to a Mina residence for a report of three people injured in a car crash that occurred down the road. An investigation found that Murphy was operating the car at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle struck a sign and the end of a guardrail before rolling several times and coming to rest in a pond. Murphy was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Murphy and two passengers were transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie for non-life-threatening injuries. Murphy will answer the charges in Mina Town Court at a later date.

¯ ELLINGTON — Darrin M. Hill, 31, of Conewango Valley was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies responded at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday to Route 62 in Ellington for a reported disorderly male. It was learned that Hill had damaged property of another person in the presence of a minor. Hill was taken into custody and arraigned in Charlotte Town Court. He was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on $15,000 cash, $30,000 property bond. It was also later learned that Hill had an outstanding federal warrant for desertion from the U.S. Army. He was also being held on the outstanding warrant.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jose L. Febus, 42, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers were dispatched to Walmart on Thursday at approximately 3:30 p.m. for a larceny in progress. Febus was found to have allegedly stolen two large knives, and it appeared that he had damaged the knives so that they could not be resold. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in Busti Town Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Daniel Velazquez-Vera of Jamestown was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and third-degree assault. Officers were called at 1:08 p.m. on Saturday for a reported physical domestic incident at 253 Crescent St. Following an investigation, it was found that Velazquez-Vera was in violation of a valid order of protection by being at the location. Police learned Velazquez-Vera also allegedly assaulted someone prior to their arrival. Velazquez-Vera was transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident and held pending arraignment.
