JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Courtney Truver, 25, of Jamestown, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and wanted on a bench warrant out of Jamestown City Court. Officers traveling on North Main Street around 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday observed Truver, who they knew was wanted on a bench warrant from Jamestown City Court. When stopped, she was also allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. She was being held pending arraignment.
¯ Robert B. Cavander, 61, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Officers on Thursday were dispatched at 9:50 p.m. to Jamestown High School on East Second Street for a man trying to fight parents and kids exiting the school. The person reportedly left before officers arrived. Cavander was later identified but refused to comply with officers. He was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail without incident.
¯ Chad W. Thompson, 33, of Pennsylvania, was charged aggravated DWI, DWI, alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain right and operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile device. Officers observed the driver of a vehicle around 1 a.m. on Saturday in the area of West Third and Hallock streets commit multiple traffic violations. Thompson was found to be driving in an intoxicated manner with an open container of beer in the vehicle. He was taken into custody and was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
¯ Kyle S. Jarvis, 25, of Bemus Point, was charged with DWI, refusal to take a breath test and no/inadequate headlamps. Officers stopped a vehicle around midnight Friday on East Third and Spring streets for inadequate lights. Jarvis was allegedly found to be driving while intoxicated. He was transported to jail where he refused to submit to a breath test.
¯ Joseph B. Crawford, 27, of Celoron was charged with following too closely, refusal to take a breath test and driving while intoxicated at 2:16 a.m. Sunday after an accident at North Main and West First streets, Jamestown. Officers responded to the reported two-vehicle accident and determined Crawford had allegedly rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a red light. Crawford was released on bail and will be in Jamestown City Court later.
¯ Stephen C. Dean, 39, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and trespassing at 1:15 a.m. Sunday after police responded to Rite Aid, 50 S. Main St., for a shoplifting complaint. According to a police report, Dean, who had already been banned from the store, stole merchandise from Rite Aid. He was found a short distance from the store and charged. Dean was taken to the Jamestown City Jail awaiting arraignment.
¯ Tyler M. Donovan, 22, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny after officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at 12:20 a.m. Sunday at Tops Market on Washington Street. Donovan was reportedly found in possession of several food items from the store. He was charged and taken to the city jail awaiting arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Ryan H. Johnson, 39, of Panama, was charged with failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, DWI, aggravated DWI and first- and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Police were called Feb. 25 to a car crash on Kortwright Road in Ashville. Police learned Johnson was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was issued appearance tickets to be in Busti Town Court at a later date.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
¯ KENNEDY — Eric Vanstrom, 33, of Kennedy, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Vanstrom was stopped on Route 62 on Wednesday in Kennedy for a traffic violation. Troopers learned he allegedly had a 4-year-old child unattended at home. Vanstrom was taken into custody after the child was left in the care of a relative and is scheduled to appear in Poland Town Court at a later date.
¯ ELLERY — Ronda John-Murphy was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers stopped John-Murphy on Interstate 86 in the town of Ellery on Tuesday for speeding. A K-9 was called after marijuana could be detected from the vehicle, and following a search, 22 grams of marijuana and a smoking pipe were discovered. John-Murphy was issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellery Town Court at a later date.
WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Bruce T. Miller, 47, of Jamestown, was charged with side windows non-transparent and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Police observed a Dodge Charger on Feb. 24 around 8:45 a.m. westbound on Route 5 with tinted windows that were not transparent. An investigation determined Miller’s driving privileges were suspended for failure to pay child support. He was issued tickets to be in Westfield Town Court at a later date.
¯ Roger A. Wainwright, 46, of Westfield, was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, parking on a highway, no/insufficient headlamps, unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, improper plates and unlicensed operator. Wainwright was taken into custody around 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 22 after police found him in a vehicle parked in the middle of North Gale Street in Westfield. An investigation found Wainwright was operating the car while intoxicated and also failed several field sobriety tests. His license was also found to be revoked for a prior DWI conviction. The vehicle he was driving was also found to have its license plates switched. Wainwright was arraigned in Westfield Village Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT.
¯ Bryce V. Lichy, 20, of Salamanca and Bethany L. Jackson, 27, of Randolph were each charged after an incident at 2091 Little Bone Run Road, Randolph, at 6 p.m. Sunday. Lichy was charged with third-degree assault and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to deputies, Lichy was found along Little Bone Run Road and was identified as a person of interest in an assault that had happened earlier. Lichy was arraigned in Randolph Town Court. Jackson was charged with third-degree assault and petit larceny for the same incident. She was taken to Randolph Town Court, arraigned, and taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.

¯ CARROLL — Shawn C. Whitney, 46, of Frewsburg was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a .18 percent blood-alcohol content or higher, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely at 3:38 p.m. Sunday on Warren Road, Carroll, after deputies responded to a reported motor vehicle accident. Whitney will be in Carroll Town Court later.
