Area Police Reports

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯Christina L. Scrivener, 29, and Andrew S. Morton, 25, both of Jamestown have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child. At 6:24 p.m. on Sunday, officers of the Jamestown Police Department responded to the 700 block of East Second Street, where it was reported that a small child was walking around the area unattended. Upon arrival, officers located the 2-year-old child, who was wandering along Second Street with no parent or guardian present. Officers attempted to locate the parents of the child, but were unsuccessful. Approximately 30 minutes after the initial call, the parents of the child called police and stated that they couldn’t find their child. Further investigation found that one parent left the house and the other parent was sleeping while the child apparently exited the house and walked almost an entire city block. The child was found uninjured and healthy, and was turned over to a family friend. Scrivener and Morton were taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment. Child Protective Services were also notified.

¯Scott E. Moore, 42, of Jamestown was charged Sunday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to dim headlights, unlicensed operation and two bench warrants. At 2:49 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 400 block of Allen Street for failure to dim high-beam headlights. Officers identified the operator of the vehicle, Moore, had a suspended, non-driver ID-only, and also had two confirmed bench warrants out of Jamestown. Moore was placed into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. A search subsequent to the arrest also found more to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. Moore was charged and remains in city jail pending arraignment.
