Two Charged With Weapon Possession

Two Jamestown residents have been charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after a search warrant was served at 103 McKinley Ave. at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a police report, an investigation by Jamestown police and investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and State Police CNET team revealed the occupants of 103 McKinley Ave. were in possession of an assault rifle. The Jamestown Police Department SWAT team entered the residence and allegedly found Gabriel Harrison, 40, and Stacey Thayer, 37, inside along with a loaded SKS 7.62 assault rifle and ammunition.

Both were charged. Police report both have prior convictions that prevent them from legally owning such a weapon.

They were taken to the Jamestown City Jail until they can be arraigned.
