City Man Spits On Police, Ingests Evidence During DWI Arrest

A Jamestown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly spitting on police and destroying evidence while being processed in the city jail.

The incident occurred Wednesday around 3 a.m., when Jamestown police responded to 270 Fairmount Ave. for an unwanted person complaint.

Upon arrival, officers pulled over a vehicle leaving the area and found 40-year-old Simeon A. Leeper Sr. inside. Leeper was allegedly intoxicated and taken to the city jail, where he was later found with 10.8 grams of cocaine.

While being processed at the jail, Leeper reportedly spit on police, ripped evidence paperwork and ingested marijuana to conceal its discovery.

Leeper was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree harassment and three counts of concealing/altering/destroying evidence.

He was additionally charged with second-degree menacing after allegedly swinging a golf club at 270 Fairmount Ave.

Leeper is currently awaiting arraignment in city court.
