A member of the Jamestown Fire Department charged following a domestic incident last year has been dismissed from the force.
On Monday, Marilyn Fiore-Lehman, city corporation counsel, said as of Feb. 1 that Ryan DiDomenico was no longer a member of the Jamestown Fire Department. She said that is all she could say about the dismissal because it is a personnel matter.
Jamestown police were summoned Feb. 17, 2018, to a residence at 23 Alfred St. around 8 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police located a woman who alleged her boyfriend, DiDomenico, 35, held her down on the floor against her will and brandished a handgun. During the altercation, allegedly a single round was fired from the handgun into a wall of the residence.
The woman informed police that she was trying to call 911 for help during the incident, but DiDomenico had taken her cellphone, forcing her to flee to a neighbor's house.
DiDomenico has been charged with second-degree menacing with a weapon, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal obstruction of breathing and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
